Cafe in a Heritage Tea Factory, HML Lockhart

Adaptive reuse of spaces and buildings is something we enjoy designing for.

An old tea factory has been a part of the Munnar’s landscape for 150 years. Located in a hill station, the first step was to bring in tourists to experience the production and making of orthodox tea.
As the number of tourists began to grow, a modern cafe in a heritage factory was the need of the day.

It would provide an experience of various teas among other fusion cuisine. An old storage space was converted into the cafe, with minimal intervention to the existing structure.
